Rookie Minicamp Review: Day 3

The Dolphins wrapped up their rookie minicamp on Sunday with their fifth practice. Rookies were scheduled to fly home on Sunday before returning for OTAs (organized team activites) on May 16.

-- Coach Nick Saban said Sunday no decision had been made on signing players who tried out this weekend. "We'll make a decision sometime in the future," Saban said. Among the veterans who tried out for the Dolphins this week were Kyle Turley, former Giants linebacker Barrett Green, former Denver defensive tackles Dorsett Davis and Mario Fatafehi and former Eagles offensive line Steve Sciullo.

-- Speaking of Turley, Saban declined to make him available to the media on Sunday after saying Friday he would consider deviating from his policy of only allowing draft picks or players under contract to be interviewed.

-- Wide receiver Eric Kimble, a rookie from Eastern Washington trying out, missed practice Sunday after sustaining a leg injury on Saturday.

-- Saban was asked about a report on suggesting Randy Mueller was a candidate to join the front office of the St. Louis Rams. "That's the first I've heard of it," Saban said.

-- Finally, Saban said the medical condition of seventh-round pick Rodrique Wright would be discussed Sunday. The likelihood remains that Wright will have to undergo surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff.

-- The Dolphins begin OTA days for veterans on May 15 and for rookies on May 16. The next minicamp, which will include all players, will go from June 9-11. Recommended Stories
