Brief Stay

Rookie linebacker J.D. Folsom's appearance on the active roster turned out to be a short one. Less than a week after being promoted from the practice squad, Folsom has been released.

Folsom's release coincides with Channing Crowder's expected return to the starting lineup. Crowder has missed the last two games because of a shoulder injury, but he has practiced all week and isn't even on the injury report.

It's certainly possible that Folsom could be re-signed to the practice squad.

The Dolphins haven't filled Folsom's spot on the active roster yet, but one possibility could be an offensive lineman if it turns out Justin Smiley's shoulder injury winds up keeping him out of the lineup for a period of time. Recommended Stories
