Ginn Takes AFC Award
WR Ted Ginn Jr.

Surprise, surprise. Ted Ginn Jr. has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. Actually, that was practically a lock after he returned two punts for touchdowns in the 30-25 victory over the Jets.

In the victory over the Jets at Giants Stadium, Ginn became the first player in NFL history with two touchdowns of 100 yards or more in the same game. The third-year veteran also became the eighth player in NFL history with two kick-return touchdowns in a game.

Furthermore, Ginn became the first player to record two returns for touchdowns in the same quarter since 1967 when Green Bay’s Travis Williams accomplished the feat against Cleveland. Ginn also recorded the second-most kickoff return yards in a game in NFL history with 299 -- behind only the 304 recorded by New Orleans' Tyrone Hughes against the L.A. Rams on Oct. 23, 1994.

Ginn is the first Dolphins player to win AFC Special Teams Player of the Week this season and the first since kicker Dan Carpenter was honored for his Week 14 efforts against the Buffalo Bills in Toronto during the 2008 season.
