Ireland: No Interest in Vick
Michael Vick
Michael Vick

So much for Dennis Green's prediction that Michael Vick would wind up with the Dolphins. GM Jeff Ireland indicated in a statement released by the team Tuesday that the Dolphins would not be going after the explosive but controversial quarterback.

"We don't have an interest," General Manager Jeff Ireland said in the statement. "We like the players we have on our current roster."

This news really shouldn't have been surprising because the main attraction in signing Vick would be to have someone to run the Wildcat, but that's what the Dolphins went out and got when they selected West Virginia's Pat White in the second round of the draft.

Signing Vick also would have flown in the face of Bill Parcells' declaration upon joining the Dolphins that he did not want problem children.
