The Miami Dolphins have signed fifth-round pick TE John Nalbone,
Scout.com has confirmed. The former Monmouth University player signed a
four-year deal with the following minimum salaries:
(2009) $310,000 (2010) $395,000 (2011) $480,000 (2012)
$565,000
The deal also includes a signing bonus of roughly $173,000 and has escalator
language in 2012 to the low restricted agent tender level for 35 percent playing
time in any season.
Nalbone is known as an athletic tight end and he should be no worse than No. 3
on the depth chart this season based on the current personnel at the position.
Nalbone is the first of nine Dolphin draft selections to sign a deal.
