Another sack for Porter

Joey Porter's memorable game against New England two Sundays ago just got even better. After reviewing tapes of the game, the Elias Sports Bureau changed Porter's sack total against the Patriots from three to four. That gives Porter five sacks on the season, only half a sack less than he totaled all of 2007.

Porter's sack total is tied for fourth in the NFL with Tennessee's Albert Haynesworth. Atlanta's John Abraham leads the league with six sacks, followed by Pittsburgh linebacker James Harrison's 5.5.

In case you're wondering, Porter's four sacks tied for the second-best performance in franchise history. The record is five, accomplished twice by Bill Stanfill (1973 and 1974) and once by Vern Den Herder (1973).

The play that gave Porter his fourth sack was his forced fumble in the fourth quarter. It initially was ruled that Matt Cassel had gained yardage before the fumble, but it was changed to reflect Cassel gaining zero yards before the ball came loose.
