Daniels was a fight just to make the roster this year, and he didn't help his cause with a terrible performance in Saturday's preseason victory over Jacksonville.He easily was beaten on two third-down plays, although he got bailed out on one of them when the receiver dropped the pass.
That the Dolphins were able to get anything for him actually is a nice coup, although it would be surprising if the draft pick was anything better than a sixth- or seventh-round choice.
The trade means another Nick Saban draft pick is gone. Saban, who coached Daniels at LSU, made 12 picks in his two years in Miami and six remain -- Ronnie Brown, Matt Roth, Channing Crowder, Jason Allen, Derek Hagan and Rodrique Wright.
