On the day before their second exhibition game, the Dolphins trimmed their roster by releasing three players, all of them undrafted rookie free agents.

Released were wide receivers John Dunlap (N.C. State), Selwyn Lymon (Purdue) and linebacker Keith Saunders (Alabama).

The moves left the Dolphins with 75 players on the roster, which is the roster limit that teams will need to get down to by Tuesday, Aug. 26.

Saunders' big claim to fame was playing for Nick Saban last year at Alabama.

When asked about Saban, Saunders couldn't help but laugh. "Oh ... he's a good coach," he said. "He taught me a lot about the linebacker position. I think he's a pretty good, a real good coach actually."

When asked about Saban's reputation for being -- how should we say this -- demanding, Saunders laughed again.

"I think that's just part of his personality on the field," he said. "Off the field, he's a players coach. He brings a lot to the game. He taught me a lot."
