So Much for Perry

Posted May 28, 2008

Wide receiver Tab Perry looked like a potential find in free agency, a guy with a lot of ability whose only drawback was a question about his ability to get back to full form after a 2005 hip injury. Well, if Perry ever can fulfill the promise he showed as a rookie with the Cincinnati Bengals, it won't be with the Dolphins.

Perry was waived/injured on Wednesday, with the statement from the Dolphins indicating he tore an Achilles tendon last weekend during the team's voluntary minicamp.

Perry had been expected to contribute on special teams next season and perhaps play a role on the Dolphins' suspect receiving corps.

Now, that's out the window.

Another player is gone from the team, but this one isn't nearly as significant.

Defensive tackle Kory Robertson, signed as a rookie free agent after the draft, was placed on the reserve/retired list.

Robertson was a backup throughout his career at Virginia Tech and he was seen as a developmental prospect.
