Coach Dave Wannstedt said he would wait until the weekend and the practices against the Buccaneers to decide whether Fiedler will start on Monday. But Fiedler is clear on his preference.
"I'd like to play in every game we play," he said. "It's just the competitive nature I've got. I don't know what decision has been made. If I go Monday, I go Monday. I'll be glad to play. If not, I'll go out on Thursday (against the Saints) and play just as hard then."
The important thing isn't whether Fiedler plays on Monday night, but rather that it shouldn't be too long before he's back at 100 percent and the hip isn't even an issue anymore.
"I'm not worried (about contact) right now," Fiedler said. "The doctor said I'm ready to go and do anything I can on it. He's not worried about contact right now. Obviously, there will be some discomfort, and a little bit of pain with the range of motion. But it's a good soreness to get and work through to get where I need to be."
