Wednesday Morning Notes

Coach Nick Saban delivered a spirited message to the media following Wednesday's practice, talking about the need for leaders but more importantly the need to have no players who need to be led. Saban also said he didn't want to make it a habit of answering questions about injuries.

That said, Saban did explain that defensive tackle Manuel Wright was absent because of illness. Wright was examined by a doctor, but Saban indicated Wright should be back soon.

Also missing practice on Wednesday was defensive end Jason Taylor, who has been having problems with cramps.

Cornerback Will Poole and safety Jack Hunt, meanwhile, both wore red jerseys, signifying they could practice but were to avoid contact.
