The case against Culpepper was dismissed because of a lack of probable cause. Culpepper was accused of sexual misconduct, namely grabbing a woman's buttocks, but he maintained all he did that night was play dice.
Charges are still pending against three of Culpepper's former teammates, Moe Williams, Bryant McKinnie and Fred Smoot.
"I was confident when the legal process began that the truth would come out, and I am glad that my innocence has been proven," Culpepper said in the statement. "I greatly appreciate Judge (Kevin) Burke's sensitivity to the damage that can be done to a person's reputation when they are wrongly charged.
"In the meantime, I stand with my former teammates that are still in the legal process. I consider them innocent until proven guilty. I want to thank my attorney, David W. Martin and Earl P. Gray, for their help in defending me in this case.
"I am delighted to begin my role as a Miami Dolphin with this issue now behind us."
