McKinney re-signs

The Dolphins took care of one of their last remaining free agents this week when they re-signed center Seth McKinney. McKinney, who was a restricted free agent, was one of only two players on offense to start every game last season (Randy McMichael was the other).

McKinney will enter the 2004 season facing a possible challenge for his starting job, either from former starting left tackle Wade Smith or perhaps 2004 sixth-round pick Rex Hadnot.

McKinney, who reportedly signed his tender of $565,000, joined DT Dario Romero as restricted free agent who re-signed with the Dolphins.

The Dolphins also re-signed three of their eight unrestricted free agents: RB Travis Minor, LS Ed Perry and QB Sage Rosenfels.

Three others -- LB Morlon Greenwood (Houston), S Sammy Knight (Kansas City) and DT Bryan Robinson (Cincinnati) -- signed with other team, while QB Jason Garrett retired and joined the Dolphins coaching staff.

The only unrestricted free agent from last year's Dolphins still looking for a job is CB Jimmy Wyrick. Recommended Stories
