COACHING CHANGES

Coach Dave Wannstedt

The Dolphins made a couple more changes to their coaching staff on Monday, while plenty of buzz still remains over a report that Dan Marino might be reconsidering his decision to join the Dolphins front office.

Marino said in a statement on Sunday that there was nothing to the story, which suggested owner Wayne Huizenga told him to take a few days to really think about what he wants to do.

The story came from ESPN's Chris Mortensen, who, ironically, has the same agent as Marino, Marvin Demoff.

Stay tuned.

The coaching changes involved the promotion of Bernie Parmalee from assistant special teams coach and offensive assistant to running backs coach; the hiring of Chris Foerster as tight ends coach; and the reassignment of Pat Jones from tight ends coach to special assistant to head coach Dave Wannstedt.

In addition, Jones will do some work in pro personnel.

Parmalee, the former Dolphins running back, replaces Joel Collier, who was promoted to offensive coordinator when Norv Turner left to become head coach of the Oakland Raiders.

The other changes this offseason included Robert Ford being fired as wide receivers coach and Jerry Sullivan hired to take his place, and the hiring of Marc Trestman as assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach.
