Newly signed cornerback Darrelle Revis was in attendance for the team's first official day of offseason workouts at Gillette Stadium on Monday. Tom Brady, Julian Edelman and Devin McCourty were just a few of the many players present for the first phase of workouts. While some players have signing bonuses associated with these workouts, those who do not (including Revis) get paid per session for participation. Slater Looking Forward to Teaming Up with Revis (Sun Chronicle)
Special-teams captain Matthew Slater caught up with local media on Tuesday as the team joined forces for the start of workouts. Slater spoke of his excitement to have the well-known cornerback as a new addition to their team, especially in upcoming practices; "As competitors, no matter what it is that you're doing I feel like all of us want to go against the best and we feel like he's definitely one of the best. He's proven that. And I think it's just going to make everyone better going against a guy like that." Slater, a two time Pro-Bowler, has been selected by teammates as the Patriots special teams captain for the last two years.
Bruschi Runs Boston Marathon (NESN)
Patriots Hall of Famer Tedy Bruschi finished his second Boston Marathon for his charity "Tedy's Team" on Monday. Bruschi, who currently works as an NFL analyst for ESPN, completed the race in 4:47:44; almost 40 minutes faster than his time in 2012. Patriots owner Robert Kraft was among friends and family waiting to congratulate Bruschi at the finish line.
Tom Brady One of Most-Searched Athletes (NESN)
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is among the list of top googled athletes, recently revealed by USA Today Sports. While LeBron James was the undisputed winner, securing the top spot in 24 states, Brady took the lead in all but two Northeastern states. Connecticut and Vermont were the only two states in the northern region to not search Brady most often; James and Tiger Woods overtook the New England QB.
Gostkowsi Hosts Speaker Series (ESPN BOSTON)
Stephen Gostkowsi was the latest New England player to host a Q&A with fans at the Patriots Hall of Fame. The New England kicker interacted with almost 200 attendees: answering questions, posing for photos and signing autographs for fans. "It was pretty cool. A lot of the people had very knowledgable questions, especially some of the little kids who are off from school this week" said Gostkowski. Past speakers include Dante Scarnecchia and Rob Nonkovich.
