Randy Starks' strong play isn't going unrecognized. The Dolphins defensive tackle was honored Wednesday when he was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the 17-13 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Starks came up with the biggest play of the game at Paul Brown Stadium when he caught Andy Dalton's line-drive pass at the line of scrimmage for his fourth career interception, which tied him for most among active defensive linemen in the NFL.

The pick set up the Dolphins' second touchdown, a Reggie Bush run that gave Miami a 17-6 lead.

But that's not all Starks did against Cincinnati. Starks also had another tipped pass at the line of scrimmage, he shared a sack with Cameron Wake, he combined with Reshad Jones to drop BenJarvus Green-Ellis for a 2-yard loss on a running play, and he earlier dropped Green-Ellis for no gain with a solo tackle.

It's the first AFC award of Starks' career and it also marks the first time since Week 11 of the 2006 season that a Dolphin won AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Jason Taylor won that week after he returned an interception for a touchdown against Minnesota; earlier that season he had won the award after the 1-6 Dolphins upset the previously unbeaten Bears at Chicago.

ROSTER MOVE

The Dolphins filled the vacancy on their active roster Wednesday when they promoted linebacker Josh Kaddu from the practice squad.

When he was cut before the start of the regular season, Kaddu had become the highest-drafted Dolphins player to fail to make the opening-day roster (excluding players on injured reserve) since 1999.

Kaddu's addition again gives the Dolphins seven linebackers. His place on the practice squad was taken by defensive end Louis Nzegwu. A rookie from Wisconsin, Nzegwu spent training camp with the Atlanta Falcons.
