The Dolphins' home opener against the Oakland Raiders, originally scheduled for 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16 was moved Thursday to 1 p.m.

The move was made to accommodate fans celebrating the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashannah. The switch was not surprising given South Florida's large Jewish population.

As a result of the switch, the Dolphins now have nothing but 1 p.m. Sunday home games in 2012.
