Wednesday notes and quotes

Before the Dolphins return to practice on Wednesday afternoon, we take stock of the team. It starts with Matt Moore, who was just about as good as any other quarterback in the league in the month of November.

TRENDING: The Dolphins have a streak of intercepting at least two passes in each of the past three games. The recent hot streak has accounted for six of the team's eight interceptions and has contributed to the drastic reduction of the rating for opposing quarterbacks, which has dropped from 103.1 to 87.4 in the month of November. Last week was the first time cornerbacks Vontae Davis and Sean Smith both pulled down an interception in the same game.

LINEUP WATCH: All three safeties played 20 or more snaps against the Cowboys, and it appears the Dolphins plan to have Reshad Jones, Tyrone Culver and Chris Clemons competing for playing time each week in practice. Jones has started seven games, two straight since recovering from a left knee injury. Culver has started four games, and during his tenure as a starter, the secondary began to jell. Clemons started all but one game last season, but he lost his starting spot to Jones during the exhibition season, and a hamstring injury has limited his contributions until now.

PLAYER NOTES

-- QB Matt Moore had a 112.7 passer rating in the month of November. The only quarterbacks who were better were Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers (131.6) and Dallas' Tony Romo (113.0).

-- RB Reggie Bush is 14 rushing yards away from setting a career high.

-- RB Daniel Thomas caught his first pass in four weeks against the Cowboys, bringing in a 2-yard reception.

-- WR Brandon Marshall needs 32 catches and 540 yards in the final five games to set franchise records.

-- TE Anthony Fasano has caught two or more passes in each of the past four games.

-- WR Brian Hartline caught two passes for 27 yards in the previous four games before contributing four receptions for 77 yards in Thursday's loss to the Cowboys.

-- OLB Cameron Wake, who recorded a sack against Dallas, leads the team with 6.5 sacks.

-- ILB Kevin Burnett tied his season high of 12 tackles in Thursday's loss to the Cowboys. He's 27 tackles from setting a career high for a season.

-- FS Reshad Jones, who has contributed 45 stops in the 10 games he's played, had one tackle in the Cowboys game.

-- WR Clyde Gate caught his second pass of the season, an 11-yard reception against Dallas. The rookie plays sparingly because of his raw route-running ability.

-- DE Jared Odrick has contributed 15 tackles, four sacks, one interception and forced one fumble in his 11 games this season.

-- P Brandon Fields is averaging career highs of 48.6 yards per punt and 40.2 net yards per punt. He also has a career low of three touchbacks so far this season.
